How crate it is.

Have you ever had one of those nights where you couldn't fall asleep? Last night was just such a night for me. As exhausted as I was, for reasons too numerous to mention my brain just wouldn't turn off. Being the goof that I am, rather than leave the lights off, throw a pillow over my head and try to fall asleep, I ended up staying up half of the night flipping through the stack of spring catalogues that have been piling up on my desk. And though exhausted this evening, I did come away inspired.

Though I can't afford (or refuse to pay the asking price) for a lot of the pieces that are shown on these glossy pages, I do come away with a lot of ideas that I can execute on a budget. One such idea - incorporating vintage style crates into spaces.

I've loved this look for a long time, but hadn't thought about hunting down crates for my current place. However, after flipping through the pages and also in looking at different shots for this post I'm thinking that perhaps some old pepsi crates are in my near future.

Or perhaps two old milk crates stacked on top of each other to create a unique night stand - my mirrored lamps would look amazing on top of these! A nice mix of vintage at it's finest with some fresh & modern thrown in for fun.

Get a look at some of my fave ways to mix crates into your own home -

Time to dig through my parent's storage sheds to see what I can find!
